ReActivation, Deployment & First Engagements:
A Brisk Walk Along Memory Lane
Dedicated to the Men of
Company H
| Vietnam -- a hot, humid country with rugged mountains; endless monsoon rains and, above all, a place where Company H became a "band of brothers." It was thirteen months of boredom, punctuated by moments of sheer terror.
There were also moments of humor, and moments of great deeds. While there is no shortage of histories covering the Vietnam War, most deal with Washington's policies; MACV's campaigns; or an occasional analysis of Regimental or Division action. The location, activities, and human events of a Battalion and Rifle Company are seldom mentioned. This will always be the case until each individual can file his own "after action report." This website, "By and For the Men of Company H," seeks to provide a "BaseCamp" where the Marines and Navy Corpsmen who served with Company H can "ask their questions" and share their memories, photos and other memorabilia to assist one another in responding to the question, "What did you do in the war, grandpa?" |
